CUTPLAN calculates which lengths of fabric to bring to the cutting table for an apparel cut. Out of all the piece goods available for a cut, CUTPLAN will select those pieces that result in the least end loss and width loss, and tell you exactly where to lay them and how to cut them in order to achieve those savings. CUTPLAN looks at all possible spreads for a cut order using the piece goods currently in inventory and prepares a pick list.

A less involved version of fabric allocation is also available, called "width control". At the time of creating a solution, the user enters the total yards available by width and CUTPLAN will create a solution minimizing width loss.
